Memorial Grove

A new memorial garden, located at UNC-Chapel Hill’s east campus entrance, was established for the interment of ashes of UNC-Chapel Hill alumni and their families. This garden borders the historic Old Chapel Hill Cemetery, also the final resting place of many connected with UNC and the Town. Our design sensitively preserved the grove's mature trees. The setting features a stone Wall of Remembrance, gravel paths, a ceremonial circle, and low-key, native plantings.
